Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation of historic properties aims to maintain a building’s character defining features by protecting those features, repairing with compatible substitute materials, or in some cases replacing an entire character defining feature with a new material due to the level of deterioration. New materials should always be compatible with the remaining character defining features of the historic building.

Trust in D.T. Mistick & Co. to assist in rehabilitating your building to its former glory while incorporating new, innovative, and compatible building techniques and materials. With historic preservation as a guide to our work, D.T. Mistick & Co. can use technology to replicate historic building materials that no longer exist. We can fabricate new trim based off of historic moulds, repair wood and masonry with compatible epoxies and patches, re-lamp light fixtures, or custom fabricate metalwork.

Case Study

The owner of this historic row house called upon DT Mistick & Co. when the time came for a much needed facade rehabilitation. To return its façade to a historic appearance, Mistick stripped the façade of decade’s worth of paint layers.
