In the Fall of 2010, D.T. Mistick conducted a site visit at a private residence in Perry, GA to assess damage caused by a lightning strike and fire fighting activities. The two story house was built around 1850 and contained unique faux finishes painted by a traveling artist in the late 1800s. The painting technique was applied to walls to simulate a wood paneled wainscot or was used to enhance the grain of existing wood materials.

Due to the antique finishes, D.T. Mistick was called upon to assess the damage to the faux finishes and to develop an estimate for the cost to repair this damage. A report was assembled that contained the results from the site assessment as well as a suggested method of repair, photographs, and drawings. Additionally, an estimate based on the repair method was provided.

Following approval from the insurance company, D.T. Mistick coordinated and completed the work. The residence's faux finish is now completely restored to its original unique appearance.
