Christina Hansen

Art Restoration Associate

Christina Hansen is an Honors Diploma recipient of Palm Beach State College where she attained high academic achievement with a concentration in fine art. She is an active alumni member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Since her arrival in Pittsburgh, Christina has been given the opportunity to design several murals which you can find dotted throughout the Pittsburgh area. She also earned the opportunity to illustrate for Military Spouse Magazine, a nationally distributed publication.

Christina joined Church Restoration Group, LLC in 2013 in pursuit of furthering her development as a professional artist and art restoration expert. She works with our chief conservator to develop and execute restoration procedures for a wide range of projects including statuary, painting, objects, and paper restoration. Her responsibilities include conducting research to facilitate accurate restoration, procuring hard to find materials for sensitive projects, and assisting with meticulous restoration, reproduction, and redesign of valuable artwork. Christina’s experience and knowledge of the arts ensures that each project receives the utmost an attention to detail, quality, and sensitivity to achieve perfection.

Faith Dickinson, CBCP

Regional Business Development Director

Prior to joining DT Mistick & Co and Church Restoration Group, Faith served as the Safety, Security and Disaster Recovery Director for an international financial firm based in Los Angeles, CA where she was instrumental in developing a business continuity plan for the company's eight locations. She implemented the plan in three locations and built an office safety team of over 150 people to respond to emergencies including trauma, earthquake preparedness, safety and security to respond to over1500 employees. On 9/11 she assisted in the evacuation of a 57-story building and commanded the response team by implementing emergency procedures including launching the emergency operations center for communication and response purposes.

She is responsible for marketing commercial properties, apartment communities, churches and hotels in the Western PA region. Faith has developed a building assessment process that assists these properties in meeting local and state regulations for evacuation procedures, business continuity and fire/life/safety issues. As a CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), she has the expertise to assist clients with their Business Continuity planning for their buildings and tenants.

Faith also works closely with insurance industry professionals assisting them with their clients and providing excellent services to them when disaster strikes.

D. Thomas Mistick, Principal

Experience & Responsibilities

Tom Mistick has completed more than $1 billion in construction and restoration during his 30+ years running the Mistick family of companies. He has directed the activities of two general contracting companies, a disaster recovery firm, a real estate management office and a millwork company.

Tom is the principal owner of Church Restoration Group, LLC. This specialty consulting and general contracting company provides services to historic and religious properties and institutions throughout the country.

High-profile religious, commercial and institutional projects include The Pennsylvanian, The Heinz Architectural Center at the Carnegie Museum, Redstone Highlands and Woodside Place, a nationally recognized Alzheimer treatment center, the Church of the Holy Communion and many others. The Mistick family has built, renovated and restored more than 20,000 housing units and over 400 buildings listed on the National Registry of Historic Structures. Tom is recognized nationally for his work in historic restoration.

An attorney, Tom also devotes time to Associated Builders and Contractors and the Construction Legal Rights Foundation. He is President of Allegheny Millwork & Lumber Company that provides and manufactures high-end custom architectural casework and trim.

Tom's education includes Harvard College, B.A., Cum laude, Economics, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, M.B.A., Systems Analysis and Finance and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Paul Worthington, Vice President of Construction

Experience and Responsibilities

Paul Worthington is the vice president of construction and general manager of the Pittsburgh office for Church Restoration Group, LLC. He brings over 20 years of construction experience and has managed over $35 million worth of projects. He has been involved with all phases of construction, including leading disaster response teams in CAT losses.

In addition, Paul also leads the project management team ensuring day to day quality control over all aspects of Church Restoration Group's projects. He serves as a project reviewer for most of the company's major construction projects.

Anthony Attanucci, Senior Estimator/Project Manager

Experience and Responsibilities

Anthony (Tony) Attanucci joined Church Restoration Group, LLC in 1997 in search of furthering his personal development in the field of restoration and renovation. Tony has more than 25 years in construction and today serves as the Senior Estimator and Project Manager for the company.

Tony has a strong attention to project management details of specifications, schedule and contracts. His project management and estimating skills assures all parties of a well- executed project. Scheduling, estimating, issue identification and resolution in a timely manner are hallmarks of his work. His accessibility and communication with all parties assures the development of �a team effort�.

To date his projects have ranged from the restoration of the oldest and smallest historic building in Pittsburgh (Ft. Pitt Block House) to the 3.1 million dollar design and building restoration of Sisters of Divine Providence. Over the years, Tony has been involved with hundreds of historically significant projects including projects listed on the National Register of Historic Places, State, and local registers.

Michael J. Kardell, Senior Project Manager/Estimator

Experience and Responsibilities

Having joined Church Restoration Group, LLC in the summer of 2008 as a project manager and estimator, Michael is responsible for managing and coordinating a variety of projects including several projects listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Michael has worked closely with State Historic Preservation Offices and local preservation organizations.

Prior to joining CRG, Michael was president of Kardell Construction, Inc. for over 28 years. He brings over 35 years of hands-on experience in all facets of commercial and residential construction trades. He has a thorough understanding of estimating, bid submission, contract negotiations and site and personnel management.

Michael is a graduate of Oakmont High School and began his career in the construction industry immediately following graduation. He was the president, owner and operator of Kardell Construction Inc. from 1980 until 2008.

Laura Schwartz MHP, LEED Green Assoc.

Project Manager/Historic Preservation Consultant

Experience and Responsibilities

Laura is a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she received her master’s degree in historic preservation. Laura works with building owners, architects, and preservation organizations. Her primary role is serving as a project manager on historically significant projects. With the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards in mind, Laura’s role for her clients is to ensure that changes and alterations protect and preserve the buildings unique historic features.

Her knowledge of the Section 106 process, the National Register nomination process, local historic nominations, and other preservation laws, makes her a valuable resource for local and national organizations particularly in promoting conservation when emergency services are conducted and during restoration.

She is frequently asked to speak on disaster preparedness topics for historic structures. Laura’s expertise lies in her roles and responsibilities with:

Jerome Machnik, Senior Estimator/Project Manager

Experience and Responsibilities

Jerome Machnik serves as the Company's project manager. His main role over the past five years has been working remotely overseeing the emergency response and rebuilding efforts following CAT losses.

Boris Brindar, Lead Conservator

Experience and Responsibilities

Boris Brindar joined Church Restoration Group as the lead artisan for a team that creates and restores murals, statues and other liturgical furnishings. His education and experience is showcased in his knowledge and talents in restoring and conserving all types of artifacts including metals, fabrics, ceramics, cut glass, furniture as well as other materials.

Prior to coming to America, Boris served as an apprentice for his father in the conservation department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Russia. He also branched out and worked with other art galleries, museums and private collectors in the St Petersburg area. His success allowed him to open his own conservation studio until moving to America in the early 1990's.

Prior to joining Church Restoration Group, Boris worked for the Antiochian Heritage Center Museum in Ligonier, PA and then later for the "A.R.T.S." Partnership in Pittsburgh.

Degrees and Certifications

Boris has been immersed in conservation and restoration since an early age. As a child, he literally grew up on the St Petersburg Museum grounds as his father was the Head of Conservation Labs for over 34 years. His father also founded the Art Conservation Department at the Academy of Fine Arts where Boris received his degree in conservation and art history. Through the Company, he is also a member of the American Institute for Conservation.

Dan Silvers, Property Loss Consultant/Church Insurance Loss Specialist

Dan Silvers joined the team in June of 2013. He is a Graduate of Woodland Hills High School and holds a bachelors degree from The University of Pittsburgh. The first fifteen years of Dan's career were spent working as an insurance claims adjuster, specializing in advocacy for the insured. This experience gives him a unique set of knowledge and skills, which translate well in the construction and restoration field. His expertise in the insurance field is a bonus for our clients and insurance adjusters alike. He can help the insured navigate the claims process and reassure them that they are being treated as they should. Insurance company adjusters also benefit from his experience…knowing the claims process and how to ensure the adjusters get information and documentation they need when they need it. Along with his experience as an adjuster Dan is also an experienced contractor, having been trained in fire and water restoration techniques as well as general construction.
