D.T. Mistick Teams Up with Partners for Sacred Places to Restore Galveston from Ike Damage
CRANBERRY TWP, PA (March 11, 2009): Church Restoration Group, LLC (CRG), a local Pittsburgh area based disaster restoration, construction and consulting company, was chosen by Philadelphia's Partners for Sacred Places to conduct assessments on historical and sacred buildings around Galveston, TX.
Partners for Sacred Places was called upon by several local Texas partners, including Galveston's Historical Foundation, Preservation Texas and the Texas Historical Commission, to assist congregations impacted by Hurricane Ike. CRG provided consulting and conducted assessments on each of the 10 committee-chosen buildings. Upon the completion of CRG's assessments and the assessments completed by architects in the area, congregations can then apply for funding for repairs to their building of up to $25,000.
"This service is essential in assisting congregations in historical facilities with information that can help them repair their buildings properly and prepare for future challenges," stated Froswa' Booker-Drew, director for Texas regional office. "By offering the expertise of CRG to congregations, this is one step closer to helping congregations get back on their feet."
"Church Restoration Group's partnership with Partners for Sacred Places is something that we have been working toward for some time now," stated Matthew Beahm, facility consultant for CRG. "We are grateful to be a part of their help in the Galveston area. We hope to work with Partners for Sacred Places on many projects in the future as well."
"CRG has an incredible reputation in providing quality work and understanding the needs and challenges of congregations in disaster situations," explained Booker-Drew. "They have significant expertise and we are excited about our partnership."
